Gourmet chef turned local hero, Joseph Mahon, went from 4-star dining in the South of France to banging out gourmet burgers with his renowned less is more approach at Burger Parlor. When it comes to the frosty accoutrements however, classic flavors come to life with just a spin of the blender. The chocolate milkshake here tackles the graham cracker and marshmallow goodness of the S’more. The timeless campfire treat served cold and flowing through a straw is pretty much near heavenly.

FRITO CHILI CHEESEBURGER AT BURGER PARLOR

ocweekly.com | July 1, 2016
We heart Burger Parlor, plain and simple. Our new favorite burger, however, is the exact opposite of that. Clocking in as one hot mess is the culmination of a number of our favorite things. There’s a savory addiction to chili cheese Fritos, a hankering for house chili, and saucy cheese to properly bind things together. Oh, and jalapeños for some bite.

BURGER RECORDS CREATES ITS FIRST REAL BURGER!

ocweekly.com | November 6, 2015
Some would say that international acclaim, a cassette tape revolution, fancy write ups in the New York Times and parade of sold-out festivals are sure signs that Burger Records has finally made it to the big leagues. To that we say…nay! The true sign of this OC-based label's success happened only recently and it's actually about as simple as it gets—the dudes finally created a real burger to call their own.

Joseph Mahon's Burger Parlor opens in Fullerton

latimes.com | October 22, 2012
Since Joseph Mahon decamped for north Orange County last year, the former Bastide chef has been busy. He started with a pop-up burger parlor, nights only, in a café in downtown Fullerton, then opened a breakfast and lunch spot called Early Bird in August in the north part of town. Now he's nixed the pop-up, and Burger Parlor just opened as a freestanding restaurant in the thick of things downtown.

BURGER PARLOR BRICK AND MORTAR CONFIRMS OPENING DATE

ocweekly.com | September 19, 2012

TEN GREAT BURGERS IN ORANGE COUNTY

ocweekly.com | February 3, 2012
If there's any list of these “Best Of Best Of Best Of” items that's likely to engender bitter debate, it's this one. Burgers inspire more debate than any other food we write about, mostly because everyone in Orange County, even those with wooden palates, know what makes a good burger. Some people think the new upscale burgers are ripoffs; some people think fast food is evil.

Joseph Mahon's Burger Parlor: His Permanent Fullerton Burger Pop-up

www.laweekly.com | April 27, 2011
The trajectory of a fine dining chef these days is circuitous -- see: Ludo Lefebvre -- more often than not encompassing pit-stops, pop-ups, food trucks, food festivals, fried chicken epiphanies, grilled cheese sandwich trophies, then back to brick-and-mortar. Or not. Joseph Mahon, most recently of Bastide, has been doing successful pop-ups since he left Joe Pytka's Melrose Place restaurant while he looks for a location for his own place. Midway through that journey, as it were, Mahon has come to rest in Fullerton, where he will open what he calls his "permanent pop-up" in mid-May.
